Storelva student housing is located on Kvaløya, the fifth largest island in Norway. The student houses have easy access to outdoor terrain, both during summer and winter. Storelva is about 10 km from the center of town and the university, but there are buses.

The lower ground floor at Borgensvingen 45 has a living room with a kitchen, which can be booked by the tenants by contacting the residence assistant. The same floor has Storelva's shared washing facilities.

Pets

It is possible to apply for permission to have pets in the apartments. This permission is granted in accordance with other applicable rules.

Practical Information

Resident assistant

The resident assistant functions as the liaison between SiTo Housing and the residents. The resident assistant is also a student who lives at Storelva, who visits new residents and inform them of what it is like to live at the student residence. Living close together can present challenges and sometimes conflicts may arise that cannot be solved on your own. The resident assistent can give advice and information, and should be able to give you an answer to the majority of your questions.

The resident assistent at Storelva, Birgitte, can be reached by phone on 97 49 92 63, and on E-mail. She has an office on the lower ground floor of Borgensvingen 45.

Familiarize yourself with fire safety
The houses are connected with the automatic fire alarm system with smoke detectors in all of the residences, corridors, and stairwells. The system is not automatically connected to the fire department.  The fire hose is in the stairwell on the main floor and the storage area in the apartment. The main fire alarm for the whole system is located in the corridor of the shared house.

Storage Areas
The rooms in the loft have their own storage area. The storage area to the top 4 rooms is in the corridor/loft floor. The apartments have their own storage area. A sports storage area for all the residents is next to the entrance of the rooms. Do not place valuables in the storage area and always remember to lock it.

Car Parking
Be especially careful of falling snow. Do not park next to the wall.

Fuse Box
The fuse box for the rooms is located in the stairway on the main floor.

Laundry Facilities
The laundry facilities are located in the lower ground floor of Borgensvingen 45.

The machines can be used from 0700-2300 (7am-11pm).

Unfortunately there can be theft in the washing facilities. Therefore do not let your clothes remain in the machines, take them out as soon as the wash is finished.
