Forhåpningen is a small housing unit in an established living area in the center of the island of Tromsø.  The housing unit is made up of three floors with 50 rooms and two apartments.

The rooms are from 15 to 25 m2 and have their own kitchenette and toilet.  Nine of the rooms have their own shower, the others have a shower in the corridor.  The residents have entrance to storage areas on the first and third floors, along with the washing facilities and the shared kitchen on the first floor.  

Cabel TV and internet connection is included in the rent for all residences.

Practical Information
Information about storage spaces, fuse boxes, and washing facilities plus fire instructions for Forhåpningen student housing.

Fire Safety: The house is connected with the automatic fire alarm system with smoke detectors in all of the residences, corridors, and stairwells.  The system is not automatically connected to the fire department but alerts the security company.  The fire hose is in the entryway on every floor. Check carefully to ensure it is not a false alarm before the main alarm is sounded.

Storage Areas
Storage for all residents is found on the second floor and in the basement.

Storage for sporting equipment is in the basement and next to the washing facilities.  Do not leave valuables in the storage area and always remember to lock it.

Fuse Box
The fuse box is located in the corridor on every floor.  The room key can open the box.

Laundry Facilities
The laundry facilities are in the basement.  Washing and drying is included in the rent.

There can, unfortunately, be theft from the laundry facilities.  Therefore, do not let clothes stay in the machines.  Take them out as soon as the washing is complete.
