Cleaning of corridors, stairs and entrance hall is performed by SiTø’s cleaner twice a week.

Every tenant is responsible for the cleanliness of his/her own accommodation. Every tenant has a duty to keep the common kitchen and bathroom clean as agreed upon with other users.  When there are many users, a list should be made by the tenants for the cleaning of common rooms (Regulations, III, 1. c).

The humidity in Svalbard is extremely low and causes much dust. In addition the water is very chalky and gives a coating in the showers, basins and toilets.  It is extremely important that everyone takes  responsibility for the cleanliness in the barracks.
